AUSS-C

  • AUSS-C
  • Academic Units Shared Services Center (AUSS-C) serves the academic units, excluding CAES. AUSS-C provides consultative and transactional support for human resources and payroll actions, including staffing recruitments and classifications, on-boarding and off-boarding and leaves administration for all AUSS-C employees.

Business Transformation & Technology

  • Administrative IT - Client Services
  • Administrative IT is a centralized resource that supports Finance, Operations and Administration by offering innovative and effective technology solutions. For this survey, we're seeking feedback specifically about Desktop Support and related functions provided by Administrative IT - Client Services.

  • Office of Business Transformation
  • Office of Business Transformation (OBT) focuses on fostering continuous innovation by partnering with individuals and departments to support incremental process improvement projects and transformative initiatives; additionally OBT is responsible for the delivery of Lean Six Sigma White and Yellow Belt training.

Campus Planning

  • Arboretum and Public Garden
  • The Arboretum and Public Garden includes the Arboretum, Grounds and Landscape Services and the Putah Creek Riparian Reserve. This unit helps create and maintain our beautiful, clean and safe campus environment, sets the standard for best practices in environmental sustainability, student leadership and community engagement, and works with academic departments to develop our outdoor spaces for research and learning.

  • Transportation Services
  • Transportation Services facilitates the campus community's access and mobility needs by operating, maintaining and funding parking facilities, roads, paths, and sidewalks while encouraging commuters to choose alternatives to driving alone through the goClub.  Additionally, Transportation Services is operationally and financially responsible for the campus Bike Program, Daily Parking Rates, University Airport,  Heavy Equipment Shop, Construction, the Mobility Assistance Shuttle Program, and complimentary Motorist Assistance Services (battery jump, tire inflation, lockout, etc.).

College of Engineering

  • College of Engineering IT Services
  • College of Engineering IT (information technology) is comprised of IT staff embedded within departments and the dean's office that provide technology support and solutions to the entire college. For this survey, we’re seeking feedback about your experience with information technology services and staff within the College of Engineering over this past year.

Design & Construction Management

  • Capital and Space Planning
  • Capital and Space Planning advises and assists with the planning, oversight and approval of minor and major capital projects and allocation of future and existing capital investment on the UC Davis campus. The unit is also responsible for handling requests for new space, implementing campus space policies and allocating space to campus units.

  • Design and Construction Management
  • Design and Construction Management services the campus community by delivering high-quality buildings, creating new environments, improving infrastructure and transforming existing facilities, including construction inspection, contracts and agreements.

  • Real Estate Services
  • Real Estate Services provides expertise in the strategic planning and implementation of a full complement of real estate services: administering off-campus leasing, negotiating public-private partnerships, managing campus faculty/staff housing, overseeing faculty home loan program, and serving as campus liaison for the West Village project.

Divisional Resources

  • FOA Business Partners
  • FOA Business Partners is a dedicated group of strategic individuals who manage business and budget planning exclusively for units within Finance, Operations and Administration.

  • FOA Communications
  • FOA Communications offers innovative and creative communication services exclusively for the units within Finance, Operations and Administration. This unit is separate from Strategic Communications.

  • FOA Human Resources
  • In partnership with central HR, FOA Human Resources supports departments and employees on HR matters such as position management, recruitment, compensation, employee & labor relations and more.

Enrollment Management

  • Enrollment Management Analytics
  • Enrollment Management Analytics, part of the division of Enrollment Management (EM), provides actionable analysis pertaining to financial aid and undergraduate admissions. We produce Tableau Dashboards, respond to Ad-Hoc data requests, and help campus partners with data driven decision making around enrollment management.

  • Financial Aid and Scholarships
  • Financial Aid and Scholarships, part of the division of Enrollment Management (EM), provides prospective and enrolled students with information and resources to financially support their educational goals.

  • Undergraduate Admissions
  • Undergraduate Admissions, part of the division of Enrollment Management (EM), identifies and enrolls undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence, a love of learning, and an appreciation of the diverse global community at UC Davis.

  • Office of the University Registrar
  • The Office of the University Registrar (OUR), part of the division of Enrollment Management (EM), supports students through the registration process, provides transcript and enrollment verification, and is the custodian of the academic record. In conjunction with the academic units, OUR publishes the University Catalog, facilitates course and classroom scheduling, and assists in the application of university academic policies.

Facilities Management

  • Building Maintenance Services
  • Building Maintenance Services employees maintain all campus building-specific systems: electrical, mechanical (heating/cooling), structural/carpentry and plumbing.

  • Custodial Services
  • Custodial Services provides internal cleaning services to campus buildings. These include common areas, classrooms, restrooms, offices, laboratories and libraries (excluding the health campus and student housing and dining).

  • Fleet Services
  • Fleet Services provides asset management for the campus fleet including maintenance and repair, fueling services, rental vehicles, permanent assignments, replacement planning and vehicle purchasing, in addition to administering daily shuttle services between Davis and Berkeley campuses (excluding the Health campus causeway connection).

Finance & Business

  • Campus Budget Office
  • The Campus Budget Office is part of Budget and Institutional Analysis (BIA) and manages the UC Davis operating budget planning process. The Campus Budget Office also manages the AggieBudget system, campus-level development and approval process for student fees, and provides leadership with policy analysis and decision support.

  • Central Payroll Services
  • Payroll Services is a campus central office whose primary focus is the timely issuance of employee pay. They serve the university in matters regarding payment of wages, and various deductions such as taxes, benefits and wage assignments.

  • Contracts and Grants Accounting
  • Contracts and Grants Accounting provides quality post-award financial services for externally funded projects. These services include establishing new awards in KFS, invoicing, financial reporting, financial close-out, department consultation and audit coordination.

  • Equipment Management and Capital Asset Accounting
  • Equipment Management and Capital Asset Accounting ensures proper accounting of all university-owned assets through financial reporting, equipment accountability system, and regulatory compliance.

  • General Accounting
  • General Accounting provides professional accounting services to accurately classify, summarize and report timely information on behalf of UC Davis.

  • Institutional Analysis
  • Institutional Analysis is part of Budget and Institutional Analysis (BIA) and provides decision support to campus leaders in the form of policy analysis on a wide range of issues, including enrollment, instructional workload, faculty positions and other institutional policies.

Fire Department

  • UC Davis Fire Department
  • UC Davis Fire Department safeguards lives and property through prevention, education and emergency response.

Human Resources

  • Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP)
  • Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) is the on-site, free, confidential employee assistance program serving faculty, staff, and adult family members of UCD/UCDH employees. Staffed by licensed mental health professionals, ASAP provides brief counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, managerial/supervisory consultation, and psychoeducational programming for workgroups on both campuses.

  • Benefit Services
  • Benefit Services is a division within Human Resources that administers the University of California’s medical, dental, vision, legal and retirement benefit plans to support staff, faculty and their families. Services may be accessed onsite at UC Davis Campus, UC Davis Health, via online, via telephone and through presentations.

  • Classification and Compensation
  • Classification and Compensation Services is a division within Human Resources that determines employee classifications; supports managers in development of position descriptions; administers pay programs including equity, stipends, merit and incentive; and analyzes employee compensation to recommend appropriate courses of action.

  • Disability Management Services
  • Disability Management Services (DMS) supports departments and disabled employees to work within those employees’ functional limitations to allow them a full opportunity to be successful as supported by UC policy. DMS provides guidance on the interactive process, reasonable accommodation, and medical separation.

  • Employee and Labor Relations
  • Employee and Labor Relations is a team within Human Resources that serve as liaisons with bargaining units, compliance, assist with employee issues, performance evaluation tracking, accommodation needs, etc.

  • Learning & Development
  • Innovative learning and development programs, services and resources are provided by Learning and Development. L&D designs and implements leadership, supervisory, mentoring, and professional development programs, offers an array of instructor-led and e-learning courses. L&D administers the UC Learning Center (LMS) for UC Davis.

  • Leadership Recruitment & Diversity Services
  • Leadership Recruitment recruits for leadership and critical, hard-to-fill positions. Diversity Services are provided through community outreach, education, and expert resource support on diversity, inclusion and equity.

  • Organizational Excellence
  • Organizational Excellence provides support for departments by helping them address organizational issues related to leader and team effectiveness, strategy and design. Organizational Excellence includes leadership coaching, change management, and process improvement.

  • Shared Services Organization (Finance services)
  • The Shared Services Organization (Finance) provides purchasing and disbursement voucher transactional services for administrative and some academic units on campus. Services include initiating documents related to various agreement requests; request for goods and services purchases, and accounts payable disbursement vouchers (i.e. Utilities, Fees, and Reimbursements).

  • Shared Services Organization (HR services)
  • The Shared Services Organization (HR Services) provide human resource & payroll services in support of recruitment, salary actions, personnel transactions, time administrations (timesheets), electronic personnel records, leaves administration, on-boarding and off-boarding, service desk and AggieService.  This unit is separate from the Academic Shared Services Center (AUSS-C) and the Distributed Shared Services Center (DiSSC).

  • Talent Acquisition
  • Talent Acquisition is a division of Human Resources that supports departments in sourcing, acquiring, assessing and hiring talented and diverse candidates to fill open job positions.

  • Workforce Strategies
  • Workforce Strategies adds value to the university by delivering services on both the Davis and Health campuses to better meet customers needs. Key recent projects include:
     *Expanded Catastrophic Leave Sharing Program
     *Launch of Staff Experience and Staff Exit Survey  
     *Establishment of Temporary Opportunities for Work (TOW) Program  
     *Development of Voluntary Separation Program and
     *Upgrading and expanding the PeopleAdmin application.  
    Key Programs performed by the team include:
     *Provide local support, training and change management for HR applications  
     *Consult with Davis campus and Health about personnel policies and procedures  
     *Produce reports and dashboards on workforce data for planning and insight  
     *Manage operations internal to HR with a focus on improving service delivery

  • WorkLife
  • WorkLife in Human Resources helps employees integrate their professional and personal responsibilities, which increases employee effectiveness and engagement. Resources include child and elder care, workplace flexibility, manager tools, Lactation Support Program, Rewards and Recognition, and worklife events/campaigns such as Take our Children to Work Day, Worklife Champions, and Gunrock Boldly Goes.

Information and Educational Technology

  • Campus Wireless Network
  • The Campus wireless network provides Wi-Fi access (EDUROAM) to Faculty, Staff and Student’s on campus. 
  • Canvas Learning Management System
  • The Canvas Learning Management System is a tool used by faculty and students to manage classwork—and is supported by a small team at UC Davis who provide assistance with enrollment, course shell creation, and integration of this tool with institutional plans. The Canvas vendor provides 24x7 user help and error support.

  • IT Express
  • IT Express is the central service desk for UC Davis supporting many of the enterprise level system and services provided by IET. Our primary focus is your campus access with computing accounts, Duo, and wired and wireless network. Additionally, we provide assistance for the various software offerings, campus applications, and supporting the latest Windows and Macintosh operating systems, email clients, and web browsers.

  • Kaltura/Aggie Video
  • AggieVideo, powered by Kaltura, is a YouTube-like video storage and management tool used by faculty and staff to create, caption, and distribute video content to students, the campus community, and the public. AggieVideo also hosts classroom and faculty-recorded lecture capture content. It is supported by a small UC Davis team.

  • Telephone/VoIP Service

  • Telephone/VoIP service provides phones to Faculty and Staff on campus and is supported by small a team on campus.

 

Offices of Chancellor & Provost

  • OCP Budget and Financial Analysis
  • OCP Budget and Financial Analysis is the main finance unit for the Offices of the Chancellor and Provost (OCP) organization. The team provides support (at differing service levels) for the units reporting to OCP with budgeting, financial analysis, rate development, and other finance activities.

  • OCP Business Operations Services
  • OCP Business Operations Services is the main business operations unit for the Offices of the Chancellor and Provost (OCP) organization. The team provides resources for all units reporting to OCP. We actively work with units (at differing service levels) to coordinate their business needs related to purchasing/procurement and accounts payable.

  • OCP Human Resources
  • OCP Human Resources is the main human resources unit for the Offices of the Chancellor and Provost (OCP) organization.  The team provides resources and support for all units reporting to OCP in all functions of HR in the entire employee life cycle.

Office of Research

  • Campus Veterinary Services
  • Campus Veterinary Services (CVS) is a full service veterinary clinical that supports research and teaching animals on campus. Our primary responsibilities include preventative care and veterinary treatment of illnesses. CVS in collaboration with other units on campus provide the required pre-review service for submitted Animal Care and Use protocols. CVS also offers fee for service support of research related procedures including but not limited to anesthesia support, post-operative care, procedural and surgical support.

  • Teaching and Research Animal Care Services (TRACS)
  • Teaching and Research Animal Care Services (TRACS) is the main animal care unit that provides daily care and oversight of animals used in teaching and research at UC Davis. TRACS also provides business operations including purchasing, receiving and transporting animals.

Police Department

  • UC Davis Police Department
  • The UC Davis Police Department provides a variety of security services on both the Davis and Sacramento campuses, Aggie Host Safe Rides, and crime prevention education.

Safety

  • Emergency Management
  • Emergency Management helps the university prepare for emergencies by reviewing campuswide plans, developing emergency response plans for buildings, managing institutional and program level business continuity planning and operating the WarnMe notification system.

  • Environmental Health and Safety
  • Environmental Health and Safety offers professional environmental/safety compliance oversight and implementation of safety programs supporting research and campus activities through laboratory safety reviews, biosafety/medical waste management, radiation safety, injury and illness prevention, industrial hygiene/occupational safety, exposure monitoring, food and pool safety, and a comprehensive hazardous materials/waste management and disposal program.

  • Fire Prevention Services
  • Fire Prevention Services is a division of Safety Services that provides fire and life safety inspections, education and enforcement related to codes and regulations. The unit conducts complex plan review and construction inspections for compliance with all applicable fire and life safety codes and regulations.

  • Occupational Health Services
  • Occupational Health Services provides medical treatment and surveillance for occupational injury and illness for campus employees in Davis. The unit administers preventative services to include ergonomics, respirator fit testing, hearing conservation, travel medicine and the UC WorkStrong Program.

  • Risk Management and Workers' Compensation
  • Risk Management reviews operations for risks including injury to persons, damage or loss of property, impact to university programs, liability, loss of financial resources and reputation. Workers' Compensation oversees claims and the return-to-work process for employees.

  • Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being
  • Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being is a division of Safety Services that provides all UC Davis staff and faculty with programs, resources and services, including, but not limited to Diabetes Prevention Program, Mindfulness Meditation and Gentle Yoga, challenges and events, flu clinics, dietitian and behavioral health consultations, Healthy Meeting and Event Guidelines, the Healthy Department Certification, and supports Wellness and Mindfulness Ambassadors as key representatives in departments.

Supply Chain Management

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Payable supports campus faculty, staff and students in meeting teaching, research and operational needs by initiating purchase order invoice documents, disbursing supplier and individual payments for various financial commitments, ensuring payments are complete, timely, and in compliance with internal and external regulations. This unit is separate from the activities provided by the SSO Finance or other shared services organizations.

  • Banking Card Services
  • Banking Card and Expense Management is responsible for all aspects the UC Davis Bank Card programs (Pcard, Travel Card, Virtual payment methods) and employee and guest Expense Management and Reimbursement for travel and entertainment (AggieExpense). This unit is separate from the activities provided by shared service units, such as SSO Finance and other administrative clusters, and does not manage credit card solutions or payments to the University.

  • Distribution and Logistics
  • Distribution and Logistics primarily provides centralized postal, logistics, and shipping services to campus and School of Medicine departments in Sacramento, minimizing the duplication of resources. Services include repurposing surplus property through Aggie Surplus, three storerooms that stock and or distribute frequently used materials for the research community, such as compressed gas cylinders, tax-free alcohol, and controlled-substances, in addition to providing hardware materials for building repairs, operations, and maintenance organizations.

  • Procurement and Contracting Services
  • Procurement and Contracting Services supports the university by acquiring goods and services at the best possible value via market research, risk analysis, contract negotiation, efficient payment vehicles and strategic sourcing while ensuring compliance with policy and statutory requirements. Services include Procurement Services, Contracting Services, Strategic Sourcing and AggieBuy.

  • Repro Graphics
  • Repro Graphics provides printing services to the university by reproducing content, such as scanning, photography, xerography, digital printing, and large format posters and banners. In addition, it provides layout design, web design, animation services, and administers the campus Copier Program through which departments may acquire and obtain service for multi-function devices to meet copying, printing, scanning and faxing needs.

  • Supplier Services
  • Supplier Services is responsible for adding, updating, and maintaining all supplier, vendor, and payee data in our financial systems, ensuring timely updates, accuracy, and compliance with university policies for the Procurement and Invoicing. This unit is separate from the activities provided by shared service units, such as SSO Finance and other administrative clusters.

University Services

  • Conference and Event Services
  • Conference and Event Services provides full service event planning and registration services for educational events, social events, business meetings and conferences. This unit is separate from UC Davis Conference Center, ARC Conference Center and UC Davis Catering.
  • Staff Assembly
  • Staff Assembly is dedicated to promoting the welfare, interests, and diversity of staff, the campus and the University of California. The UC Davis Staff Assembly meets regularly with UC Davis administration on a range of issues important to staff and works to enhance communication among the university community along with proposing and sponsoring programs and activities committed to the interests of staff.
